Old Dominion football has an unorthodox history that dates back nearly a century. The Monarchs originally fielded a team from 1930 to 1940, and from 1941 to 2008, one could say ODU football "never knew defeat"-- that is, the school's program was discontinued. After then-recent alumni made it known they wished ODU had a football team, the program was officially reinstated in 2007. Since then, the program has been a true "Victory for Old Dominion" and its campus community.
